On September 6th, the results of the National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students were revealed. The animated work " The Youth Shoulder the Responsibility of our Times" created by Zhong Jiayu, Xiao Huawei, Zhang Lu, Wang Yuxin and Jiang Xie, students of the School of Design and Arts, with the instruction of Yang Fan , won the national first prize in China.

The National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students is sponsored by the Advertising Education Professional Committee of China Higher Education Association and the Organizing Committee of The National Advertising Art Design Competition for College Students. It is the most authoritative, extensive and influential advertising art design competition in China. Since its launch, the competition has attracted students from 1869 universities in 29 competition areas across the country. After the preliminary evaluation in our school, the selection in competition areas, the preliminary screening by propositional parties, and the second screening by the National Organizing Committee, only 0.03% of the candidates won the national first prize.

Zhong Jiayu said that the work centers on the theme of "The youth have faith in forging ahead into a new era", demonstrating the motivation and faith young people in the new era from five perspectives of people in different walks of life. The team combined animation with setting shot in real scene. The five scenes correspond to five occupations respectively, and animated characters, along with some small items implying the occupations, are set up in the scenes, which formed a vivid epitome of the world. In this way, the work is intended to convey the message that each youngster can play their part in the progress of our nation, in spite of their bounded capabilities and ordinariness. “This work revolves around the responsibility of our times on the youth and the initiative to shoulder national missions, which may impress the judges.”Yang Fan said.

In recent years, the School of Design and Arts encourage students to participate in various competitions, which can not only improve students' hands-on skills, but also stimulate students' patriotic enthusiasm and love for the party, with the theme of "Positive youth with positive energy". In their exploration, students closely connect their professional ability with their historical mission, and devote themselves to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, which shows the responsibility, initiative, creativity and vitality of Chinese youth in the new era.
