On January 4th, the graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony of the 2023 postgraduate students in our school was held in lecture hall 1. School leaders, members of academic degree evaluation committee, members of master's degree evaluation sub-committee, dean of respective colleges and vice president in charge of postgraduate education, personnel in charge of relevant degrees and secretary of degree management, representatives of postgraduate tutors, teachers and graduate students attended the ceremony. The meeting was presided over by Wei Kexiang, vice president and member of the HIE Party Committee.

Yi Bing, vice secretary of the CPC Hunan Institute of Engineering Committee and president of HIE, extended warm congratulations to the 63 graduate students who successfully obtained master's degrees. He acknowledged the achievements of postgraduate education in HIE, asking all the graduates to stick to their initial intentions with responsibility, empathy and tolerance in the future. At the same time, he hopes that the students could root their love for motherland in the heart and maintain motivated to better themselves. Only in this way can they respond to the call of times and make the most use of their youth to contribute to the development of thier motherland, people, nation and mankind.

Zou Hongxiang, representatives of postgraduate tutors, shared his understanding of tutor’s role by illustrating his postgraduate study. He encouraged the graduates to forge ahead bravely once they make up their mind. Lan Mudan, representatives of graduates, expressed her gratitude towards her mentors and HIE by sharing her memorable campus life. She also called on her peers to constantly challenge their limits and cherish their past experiences, be it success or failure, as they eventually will lead to unique and splendid life journey. Hu Jintian, representatives of on-campus postgraduates, extended his gratitude and best wishes to the graduates, promising to inherit their spiritual legacy and scale new height.

The ceremony commended the outstanding master's thesis instructors in Hunan Province level, the winners of outstanding master's thesis and their instructors, outstanding principal and the 2023 outstanding master's graduates. Yi Bing read out the decision on awarding the master's degree, and awarded the 2023 master's degree winners the degree certificate with the turning of tassel ceremony.

Chen Yuetang made a concluding speech. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and award-winning teachers and students who are about to open a new chapter in their lives. He also mentioned his expectation for the graduates. First, all graduates should follow the party’s lead, and unlock the their potential by thoroughly comprehending the spirit of the party's 20th National Congress. Second, they are expected to be bold to embrace uncertainty, benefiting from and contributing to the advances in the new era. Third, they are supposed to meet the challenge head on with relentless efforts to thrive. He hopes that the students will shoulder their responsibility, voice out their thinking, blaze new trail, and live the most beautiful life with wisdom and hard work.

After the group photo, the graduates’ postgraduate study came to an end, and they are facing a fresh start. Hopefully, in the historical torrent of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, they will stand up to the tide of the times and write a marvelous chapter of youth.
