At the meeting, Yi Bing briefly introduced our school and the automation major. The school was born with the mission of rejuvenating the country by driving the industry. Located in Hunan and facing the whole country, HIE has more than 70 years of engineering education history, nurturing a large number of engineering application talents for society. Yi Bing pointed out that the school attaches great importance to the accreditation of engineering education, and the certification of automation major will help cement the application-oriented running of our school, and improve the talents training system. Yi Bing said that the expert group's assessment is not only an accurate diagnosis of the training of automation professionals but also a review of the implementation of engineering education concepts in our school. It is hoped that the expert group will give more valuable opinions on the automation major and the construction and development of the school, inject new impetus into the reform of engineering education in our school, and help the school to open new chapters in the reform and development of engineering education.
Dai Xianzhong briefly introduced the procedures of China Engineering Education Accreditation and the main contents of this online assessment. He also explained the specific requirements of the online assessment. Dai Xianzhong said that in the next two days of examination, the expert group will strictly follow the professional certification standards of engineering education. Online examination of laboratories, discussion and exchange, review on submitted materials, and interviews with teachers and students are going to be carried out. The authenticity and objectivity of self-assessment reports and supporting materials will be scrutinized to produce feedback.
Wu Di, who is in charge of the automation major, reported on the construction of the automation major and answered in detail the questions raised by experts on the self-assessment report. After reviewing the self-assessment report and submitted materials, the members of the expert group asked the relevant personnel of the school and the profession about relevant issues, and the heads of relevant functional departments and automation majors answered the experts' questions one by one.
After the meeting, the expert group visited the laboratory in the form of a live video broadcast, where the teachers of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering introduced the automation laboratory to the expert group. Next, the expert group will examine the automation major in an all-round way by interviewing the heads of relevant departments and having discussions with employers, alumni, students and teachers.
