On the evening of December 7th, the closing ceremony of 2023 English Culture and Art Festival of the College of Foreign Languages was held in a lecture hall. Qi Luliang, member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Liu Xuan, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Wang Jiayi, Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, Chen Yaqiong, Secretary of the Party General Branch, Peng Yu, Vice dean of the college, all counselors, class teacher representatives,and award-winning students attended the event.

    The Festival lasted for seven months, with more than a thousand teachers and students participating in it. The college carried out a series of activities such as English keynote speech contest, "Word Talent" vocabulary ability contest, English film and television dubbing contest and so on. Wang Jiayi said that the English Culture and Art Festival has been hosted for 20 years,showcasing our educational achievements and highlighting foreign language cultural characteristics.The festival has become an important school-based large-scale activities in our school.Wang also asked the students to continue to appear on the stage to show their language proficiency and capability.

    Liu Cheng read out the document "Decision on Commending Winners of English Culture and Art Festival in 2023, College of Foreign Languages, Hunan Institute of Technology", and then the guests presented awards to the winners.

    Teachers and students present watched the award-winning video of "Hunan People's Persistence and Inheritance", the first prize of Hunan Short Video Contest of "Telling Hunan Stories Well in English". The video helps the audience to have Better understanding about the intangible cultural heritage. They also feel that students show the idea of "five educations simultaneously" in our school in practice. Liu Shuanglin, an award-winning student in the 28th "21st Century Cup" speech contest, shared her understanding of civilization with the title "My Interpretation of Civilization".

    Sail for a new journey, Work for future glory. In the future, the English Culture and Art Festival will continue to focus on ideological guidance, study style construction, cultural inheritance and quality development, constantly innovate forms, enrich carriers, integrate learning and doing, give full play to the practical education role of the "second classroom", and lead teachers and students to tell Chinese stories well in English to spread Chinese voices.
