According to the latest ESI statistics released by Clarivate Analytics in May 2023, Engineering programme of our school has entered the top 1% of ESI in the world, which indicates that this discipline has been internationally high-level and renowned, a landmark achievement and breakthrough in scientific research and discipline construction of our school. The ESI data cover the time span from January 1, 2013 to February 28, 2023. According to statistics, 296 papers of engineering from our school are included in ESI, with the total number of 3,570 citations. The average number of citations per paper is 12.06, and there are 8 highly cited papers.
The school attaches great importance to discipline construction and adheres to the philosophy of classified development and striving for first-class, improving our competence and cater to demand, with breakthroughs in key areas and in systematic manner. Guided by advantageous and characteristic disciplines, we promote discipline construction at different levels.With clear construction goals and priorities, concise discipline directions, we build strong teams in multiple disciplines, optimize discipline layout, stimulate construction motivation, improve personnel training quality and scientific research level. Furthermore, we improve the ability to serve the needs of national strategy and regional economic and social development, and strive to enhance the core competitiveness and discipline influence of schools. In addition to engineering, the international academic level and influence of chemistry in our school are increasing day by day, and it is expected to step up to a new level.
At present, according to the "14th Five-Year Plan", the school is vigorously promoting discipline construction. Focusing on the needs of national strategy and key areas of regional economic and social development, we strengthen the construction of discipline connotation, adhere to characteristics to lead development, continuously improve the quality of personnel training, scientific and technological innovation level and social service ability, and strive to build a high-level engineering application-oriented university with distinctive characteristics in an all-round way.
