On the afternoon of April 15th, Yi Bing, president and deputy secretary of the HIE Party Committee, Wei Kexiang, vice president and member of the HIE Party Committee, and other fellow leaders of HIE came to Xiangtan Gaoxin District to visit related enterprises and attend relevant symposiums and signing ceremonies. This exchange is aimed at implementing national, provincial and municipal policies on graduates’ employment and advancing relevant programs initiated by local leaders. Besides it helps pool social resources from all walks of life, expand high-quality job positions and facilitate industry-teaching integration and university-enterprise cooperation so as to improve graduates’ employment quality and HIE’s service capability for local economic development.

We will carry forward it and welcome younger graduates to our businesses”. Managers of the Hunan SUND Technological Corporation and the Xiangtan Hualian Electric CO., LTD. spoke highly of HIE’s achievements in talent training, social service and university-enterprise cooperation and contributions made by its alumni to integrate production and operation. They also applauded its graduates for their good command of expertise, outstanding hands-on ability and virtues like hardiness, and conveyed their requests for more human resources from HIE.
While visiting the corporate product hall of the Yourfield Group, the leaders paid attention to the protective suits and masks developed by HIE’s teachers. “Since the outbreak of COVID-19, in response to the anti-epidemic initiative and by means of their expertise and technological advantages, our faculty members of science and technology have provided immediate service to help businesses with their research and development of products in urgent need during epidemic prevention and control, an epitome of HIE people’ sense of responsibility,” said Yi Bing. Corporate managers thanked the university for its support for personnel training and technological assistance for many years, in hope of the visit which could allow the two sides to have in-depth cooperation in personnel training and industry-teaching integration, pool resources and complement each other.
The government, the university and enterprises carried on in-depth exchanges centered around personnel training, graduates’ development and cooperation of industry, teaching and research at the symposium and the signing ceremony.
The symposium was presided over by You Zhihua, secretary of the Party working committee of the high-tech zone. Zhang Shulin, deputy secretary of the Party working committee of the zone, briefed the attendees on the development of the zone and HIE’s director of the Science and Technology Department illustrated its educational features and service capability.
According to Wei Kexiang, HIE would continue to work with businesses to strengthen industry-university-research integration, program cooperation, talent training and human resource supply as well as training base construction; continuous efforts would also be made to enhance personnel training quality, facilitate technological innovation and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and provide human resources and consulting services in support of the economic and social development of Xiangtan Gaoxin District.
“HIE’s priority is nothing but to actively satisfy social industrial requirements, strengthen university-enterprise cooperation, advance joint educational efforts as well as industry-university collaboration and train professionals the society needs.” Yi Bing points out that HIE attaches great importance to cooperation of the government, the university and businesses and to integration between industry and education, and has cooperated with over 120 enterprises of Xiangtan Gaoxin District; in 2021, HIE was selected as a president units of the advanced industrial chain of electric drive and wind power equipment of the Xiangtan; each year it dispatches more than a dozen scientific and technological commissioners to businesses for research and development; the university will work further with businesses and establish a normalized cooperation and exchange mechanism to seek collective personnel training, program research, platform construction and resource sharing as well as greater contribution to local economic growth.
According to You Zhihua, HIE and the zone has shared a long-term and in-depth foundation of cooperation. This visit will be taken as an opportunity to advance integrated development of both parties, make concerted efforts in personnel training, resource utilization, project declaration and platform construction, and achieve sharing in these fields. He hopes that universities and enterprises continue to optimize exchange mechanism, and help institutionalize and normalize discussions on industry, education and research among governments, universities and enterprises. Besides, cooperation modes are expected to be renewed, collaboration fields to be expanded, and major scientific and technological achievements of the university to be introduced and industrialized locally.
HIE signed three agreements at the ceremony: the Cooperation Agreement on "100 Doctors into the Zone" with the Xiangtan High-Tech Zone, the Cooperation Agreement on Xiangtan’s Industrial Chain Service Promotion Alliance for Advanced Electric Drive and New Energy Equipment with the municipal productivity promotion center, and the University-Enterprise Cooperation Agreement on Production, Teaching and Research with 8 businesses of the zone.
This is win-win cooperation. Through optimization of resource deployment between the university and enterprises, cooperation at multiple levels and in different forms and fields is made available and new platforms for personnel training and development are jointly established to enhance the training quality. As a result, both parties will make progress together, students can achieve high quality employment and the local government sees sustainable and rapid economic growth which benefits all. It is reported that HIE will introduce 100 doctors in five years to provide technical guidance as well as scientific and technological services, and work on the related programs for local enterprises. It also plans to launch personnel training activities, invite entrepreneurs to visit the campus, organize presentations on scientific and technological achievements, and carry on all-round cooperation with enterprises in scientific research, transformation of the achievements, education, training, etc.
